Service update: estimated meter read billing for customers with natural gas meters.

What’s happening?

Industry-wide resource shortages continue to affect scheduling within the service teams who perform meter reads on behalf of Kleenheat.

As a result, meter readers may not be able to reach all meters within each billing cycle, and your meter read may have to be estimated.

What are we doing?

If a meter read is not completed within a billing period, Kleenheat will issue an invoice based on an estimated read. This estimated reading is based on your previous gas usage for the same time last year.

Rest assured that in the next billing period, once a meter read has been actioned, Kleenheat will make any required adjustments to your bill.

ATCO will prioritise all properties currently with estimated readings, for an actual read, in the next quarter, and Kleenheat will make any required adjustments to the next bill.

Estimated reads vs actual reads

Estimate reads are typically very accurate, and you can check this by referencing the meter read provided on the second page of your bill, against your physical gas meter.  If there is a significant difference, you can give Kleenheat a call on 13 21 80.
