How to opt-in to go carbon neutral on your natural gas usage with Kleenheat.

As part of our long-term sustainability plan, Kleenheat is enabling our natural gas customers to make their natural gas usage 100% carbon neutral.

If you currently use LPG (gas cylinders), we’re working on extending carbon offsetting to Kleenheat LPG customers as soon as possible.

If you’re currently a Kleenheat natural gas customer, follow these steps to offset your carbon emissions, by opting in to go carbon neutral on your natural gas usage.

Residential natural gas customers 

Carbon offsetting is now available for Kleenheat’s residential natural gas customers.  

This new option will be available on all natural gas plans including the Monthly Energiser, Monthly Smart Saver, and the Standard Form Contract

How does carbon offsetting work with billing? 

When you choose to opt-in to offset your carbon emissions, your next bill will include a carbon offset contribution. 

The carbon offset contribution is based on your household’s consumption of natural gas. Your units of consumption will be multiplied by a unit price. This unit price is set by Kleenheat and is based on the cost of acquiring offset units. 

The unit price may fluctuate over time, due to the availability of carbon offsets for purchase. 

Once you’ve opted in, your carbon offset contribution will be applied to the whole billing period, meaning your natural gas usage will be carbon neutral for the whole period.  

If you choose to opt-out, your next bill will not feature any carbon contribution charges, except in the case of a prior period adjustment.

Opting in to go carbon neutral.

Current and new Kleenheat customers have the option to go carbon neutral on their natural gas usage. 

If you’re a Kleenheat customer you can login to My Account and update your carbon offset status at any time. Our Customer Service Team can also assist, simply call 13 21 80.

Opting-out of being carbon neutral.

Kleenheat customers can choose to opt-out at any time. To opt-out, log in to My Account and deselect the opt-in option.  

If you do opt out of the carbon offset contribution, you can opt back in, at any time, by following the steps above.
