Big Loaf Bakery | Using natural gas for baking the freshest baked goods

Our State on a Plate focuses on quality WA produce and how it is sourced, cooked and served in local eateries around WA.

In partnership with Our State on a Plate, we hit the road to meet some of our business customers and primary producers to learn more about our homegrown goodness and how best to enjoy it.

The power of fresh-baked bread and goodsBig Loaf Factory and Bakery team

There is no greater smell first thing in the morning than the smell of freshly baked bread coming out of the oven.

Many of us love getting up and going down to ‘our local’, favourite, bakery or café to grab a coffee and baked sweet or savoury treat before work, for brunch on the weekend, or to compliment a stroll around the block, along the river or beside the beach.

Bakeries have seen a resurgence with many locals favouring traditional baking methods over processed, mass-made baked goods.

Bakeries and cafes are now tailoring their products to a wider range of people, and getting more creative with what they serve up.

Big baking efforts from a small, local team

Big Loaf Factory and Bakery team

Big Loaf Factory is a recent expansion on and addition to the suite of businesses Lachlan Bissett and Craig Stewart, and their team, operate.

The team also run Little Loaf Bakery in South Fremantle, North Street Store in Cottesloe and most recently People’s Cafeteria in Northbridge.

At a time where we now prefer to know the source of ingredients used in baking and where our produce is sourced or made.

The bread from Big Loaf is baked fresh daily using the finest locally sourced flour and ingredients. Big Loaf maintains consistency by keeping in close communication with their local suppliers.

Supporting local talent and entrepreneurial spirit

We’re all keen to support local talent, especially when food is involved. Even more so, when local people have the entrepreneurial spirit to start their own business and flourish through their passion for their work.

These local businesses also break down the pretentiousness sometimes associated with hospitality through their décor, menu and through their casual, honest and fun, but quality and efficient customer service.Big Loaf Factory and Bakery team
