What happens if my direct debit fails?

Last updated: 21 Oct 20261 min read.

Your direct debit may fail from time to time for a few reasons, such as your bank details not being up to date or your credit card expiring.

If there's an issue with your direct debit payment, we'll attempt to contact you by email or SMS to let you know the payment wasn't successful.

You'll then need to pay the outstanding amount by another payment method. We also recommend you log in to your My Account to check your direct debit details are correct.

If a direct debit from your bank account or a cheque is rejected, your bank will charge Kleenheat a $10 fee, which will be added to your bill. If you don't pay the outstanding amount with another payment method within three days of the payment due date, late fees may apply.
