LPG supply disruption in Rapids Landing

18/01/2019

Following yesterday’s disruption to Kleenheat’s LPG supply to Rapids Landing, we can provide an update on our progress to safely restore the local gas network.

So far, approximately 65% of households have their LPG supply reinstated and this afternoon Kleenheat representatives continue working to reconnect the remainder of residents.

If we’re yet to visit your property, please rest assured our team is working as quickly as possible to restore your gas supply safely.

We need access to your home

As a reminder, reconnecting your home to the LPG network requires a responsible person (over 16 years of age) to be at your premises so our team can safely relight your gas appliances.

Unfortunately, some households already visited have been unable to have their gas supply reinstated as access inside the premises was unavailable.

If your gas supply is yet to be reinstated, please phone 1800 093 336 and let us know which of the following times is most convenient for a responsible person to be at your home:

  • 5:00pm – 9:30pm tonight, Friday 18 January
  • 10:00am – 3:00pm tomorrow, Saturday 19 January
  • 5:00pm – 9:30pm tomorrow, Saturday 19 January

If none of these times are convenient for you, preferred times can be discussed on 1800 093 336.

Thank you for your patience as we work to return gas supply to all Rapids Landing residents.

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience this disruption has caused.

Residents in the Margaret River suburb of Rapids Landing may be aware of a current interruption to Kleenheat’s LPG gas supply to the area.

On Thursday 17 January, our local LPG gas network was damaged during earthworks being conducted by a third party. The incident required the gas supply to be isolated, which unfortunately resulted in a loss of supply to our customers.

What happens next?

We have taken immediate steps to safeguard the area and Kleenheat representatives are currently working to fully repair the LPG pipeline and restore gas supply to Rapids Landing.

Safely restoring gas to the pipeline means our crew must first shut off the gas valve at each residence in the area.  We have called upon extra Kleenheat representatives to help with this process.

Once the main gas valve at each residence has been shut off, gas can be safely reintroduced to the LPG network. Our representatives must then return to households to switch gas valves back on and relight your appliances. Please note this will require access inside your premises.

Rest assured our team is working as quickly as possible to restore gas supply safely. We will keep customers updated on our progress
