Busselton local, Peter Handgraaf, is just one of many members of the Kleenheat team dedicated to providing the best possible service for the community in which he lives and works. Read more on his story.
What do you do at Kleenheat?
I’ve been with Kleenheat for three years and am responsible for looking after the gas needs of businesses in the South West of WA from Bunbury to Augusta, and across to Manjimup and Donnybrook.
Are there any job perks?
Absolutely love being able to build such great relationships with people that own such beautiful, top-notch wineries, pubs and accommodation in the magnificent South West region. Apart from enjoying the odd mates rates, I have developed some genuine friendships.
Have you always been based in Busselton?
After returning from a travelling stint in Europe, I met my wife who is from Busselton. Moving down south became an even easier decision when the opportunity to work for Kleenheat came up.
What is it like living in Busselton?
I love Busselton! It’s so scenic and relaxing and I can’t see my family and I ever leaving for the city. It is such a caring community that’s very supportive of each other and people warm to you easily.
What do you do in your free time?
I love spending time with my wife and my little girls aged three years old and 8 months. I also play footy down at the Capel Kakkas footy club.
I just recently worked on converting an old 1978 caravan into a modernized version of itself; that was really gratifying. We take it out whenever we can with family and friends for camping trips on the Blackwood River where we go fishing and it’s also one the few natural spots for freshwater marron!
I also like to dabble in some photography whenever I get the chance which is not hard to do when you’re a local in such a beautiful place like the South West.
