Five starring films for hot summer nights

Hot summer nights, plenty of snacks, your favourite movie under the stars – what could be better?

Telethon Community Cinemas is all set to again provide the perfect evening entertainment for families, couples and moviegoers alike, all for a worthy local cause.

To help you flow into the holiday season, we’ve put together five film screenings to enjoy at Telethon Community Cinemas. From fun family flicks, through to sweet romantic comedies, there’s something for everyone.

Fun flicks for the family

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (PG)

Angelina Jolie returns as Maleficent in this dark fantasy adventure film produced by Walt Disney Pictures.

Rated PG, this magical movie shows us another side to Maleficent that might surprise some of the Sleeping Beauty fans out there!

With a few scary themes, it might be best suited to the bigger kids only.

Abominable (G)

When a mischievous group of friends encounter a young Yeti, they embark upon an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth.

Bring the family and follow the Yeti and his curious companions on this vibrant, magical journey!

Cuddle up worthy romantic comedies

 Love Actually (M)

Seeing this classic might be all you want for Christmas!

Everyone knows this classic Christmas rom-com that’s traditionally played on TV during the festive season.

Shake up your usual viewing experience by watching Love Actually with your loved ones under the beautiful WA night sky!

Last Christmas (PG)

Inspired by the Wham! song “Last Christmas”, this film will give you plenty of laughs, warm fuzzies and maybe a tear or two. Emilia Clarke and Henry Goulding star in this heart-warming romantic comedy, about a Yuletide romance during the most wonderful time of the year.

Crazy about action?

 Terminator: Dark Fate (MA15+)

Sarah Connor has returned from far away, and she’s gearing up with a team of agents who will fight against T-1000. A newly modified liquid Terminator, time travel, robotic assassins and plenty of action makes for an exciting watch.
