Our tips for making the most of WBBL Festival Weekend with the Perth Scorchers

Cricket fans, it’s time to get excited for the Perth Scorchers  as they gear up for their first home games of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).

For the first time in WA, the WBBL Festival Weekend takes place over three fun-filled days from 1-3 November at the WACA Ground.

Cheer on our Scorchers team as they battle it out against our eastern states competition – the Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars – or catch all the action as the Sydney Sixers battle the Renegades and Stars.

Tips for making the most of WBBL Festival Weekend

WBBL Festival Weekend is all about bringing the family, your picnic basket and blanket down to enjoy plenty of cricket action – plus carnival rides and plenty of free entertainment – across three action-packed days.

Here are some simple tips to make your weekend of cricket flow smoothly.

Keep your cool

November in Perth can be a little on the warm side, so keep an eye on the forecast as you plan your WBBL Festival Weekend experience.

If it’s a scorcher of a day, make sure you have plenty of water and drop by Kleenheat marquee and enjoy some shade while you try your luck at a game of ice-bowling.

You could also score yourself a free reusable cooling neck bandana to help you chill out while you watch the cricket. Nice!

Stay sun smart

The WACA boasts plenty of shaded seating alongside open air, grassed areas where you can set up your picnic blanket and enjoy the sunshine.

Make sure you stay sun smart by wearing sunscreen, covering up in the sun and finding shade when you need it.

Sunscreen and water fountains are available for free at the event in case you get low, plus you can  download the SunSmart app to keep an eye on UV levels.

Plan your journey

Sometimes a day at the cricket means leaving the car at home to walk or catching a bus or train with your fellow Scorchers fans.

If you’re looking to avoid driving to the WBBL Festival Weekend, or might enjoy a couple of cold refreshments while watching the cricket, head to Transperth’s Journey Planner to find the quickest route to and from the WACA.
