Telethon Community Cinemas extends its season

Summer may have come and gone but there’s no reason why you still can’t enjoy the thrill of an outdoor movie night!

Telethon Community Cinemas Burswood has extended its season till 18 May, giving you a few more weeks to enjoy the outdoors before the winter chill officially sets in.

The family-friendly, affordable outdoor cinema, proudly donates all profits to charities dedicated to improving the quality of life for kids in health or physical ability crisis.

Each year, over 700 generous volunteers get behind the event and continue to play a vital role helping Community Cinemas raise more than $8.25 million to date for those in need across WA.

So go on, check out some of these movies (just remember to bring a rug or two!) and enter below for your chance to win tickets:

Us

After his Academy Award winning directorial debut, Get Out, director Jordan Peele returns with another horror film that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. Us features a family on a seemingly innocuous family vacation who then find themselves pit against a terrifying and uncanny opponent: doppelgängers of themselves.

Shazam!

With just one word (SHAZAM!), a streetwise 14-year-old foster kid turns into the adult superhero Shazam, courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? But every superhero has a nemesis and he’ll need to quickly master his powers in order to defeat his – the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Dumbo

Relive the classic! A former circus star is hired to take care of Dumbo, a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him the laughing stock of the struggling circus troupe. But when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, silver-tongued entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere and aerial artist Colette Marchant swoop in to make the little elephant a star.

Five feet apart

Stella has cystic fibrosis, which means she can’t be touched by another human for fear of being exposed to bacteria, which could be fatal for her. She follows all of the rules she’s been given because she doesn’t want to die. When she meets Will, another cystic fibrosis patient, she’s immediately drawn to him. Although he has a devil may care attitude about the length of his life, when he develops feelings for Stella, he realises his actions may affect her.

WIN your way to the movies

Head to the movies on us! As proud partners of the Telethon Community Cinemas, we’re giving you the chance to win one of 15 double passes to a magical night under the stars.
