Movember: It’s a wrap

As the calendar flips over to December, it’s time to bring back out the razors and say goodbye to the beloved mo.  In the short space of four weeks Movember has once again raised the necessary awareness and funds for men’s health.

So, what did our mo-bro and mo-sistas get up to during the month?   When we last checked in with Chris, he was well on his way to getting the desired trucker look.  After four weeks, I think it is safe to say his “desired” look was achieved.  Chris wasn’t alone in his quest with a lot of men in the Murdoch office showing off their interesting upper lips.

In our Melbourne office, the mo was the champion with a record 17 men participating this year.  The big focus for the team at Niddrie was to ensure that all of Alan’s luscious locks were removed.  At the start of Movember, Alan’s hair was at a total length of 365mm.  Thanks to all the rallying, donations and continual hard work through the month, I can reveal that Alan has kept his promise and for every $5 donated he cut a mm off….  All 365mm off!  Lucky, we are heading into summer as the now aerodynamic Alan may have found it a bit frosty if we were in a Victorian winter.  Thank you to everyone who supported and well done to Alan who accepted the challenge.  Just think of all the money you will now save on shampoo!

The team this year raised a grand total of $24,582 and were ranked 21 nationally, with 40 members.  Nationally, Australia raised $17,827,845 and had 94,752 registrations and globally, $79,762,591 was raised!  To check out the final tally and more Movember pics visit http://au.movember.com/team/1534609.

Well done to everyone involved, and let’s look forward to Movember 2015 to be bigger, better and hairier!
