Thanks to Kleenheat, children of Rockingham are decked out and ready to shoot some hoops!
As part of the WesCEF Community Grants program, Kleenheat provided the Western Warriors Basketball Club (WWBC) with $2,000 to go towards the purchase of new team uniforms.
The funding allows the club to now loan out singlets to the players, saving families the extra cost of purchasing one. This has been fundamental in the growth and affordability of WWBC, whilst providing opportunities to the wider community.
The club also supports the upskilling of older players to take on coaching and mentoring roles, positively impacting the youth in the community.
Kelly Dravitzki, Club President, said having the support from Kleenheat allows WWBC to keep growing in the community and continue to provide the best form of coaching to new players.
“Our greatest mission is to create an inclusive rather than exclusive environment for our players and families,” she said.
“Kleenheat has helped our players look and feel confident on game day.”
WWBC formed in early 2017, when they saw an opportunity to create a family-based club that welcomed and encouraged all players that showed an interest in domestic competition. Initially starting with one team, the club now has 18 teams, with over 50% of players having never had an opportunity to play basketball before.
