Celebrating the career of Rolf Larsen

As we celebrate 60 years of Kleenheat this year, it’s humbling to reflect on some of our truly talented and dedicated employees who have helped support the business and the gas industry.

After an outstanding career, one of Kleenheat’s longest serving employees has retired.  Rolf Larsen, who began his career in 1970, has spent over 30 years dedicating himself to the gas industry and Kleenheat.

Rolf’s career is a testament to the places hard work and dedication can take you within the organisation.  The positions held during his time with Kleenheat include Area Representative for Narrogin and Esperance, Branch Manager for Kalamunda and Murray Bridge, State Commercial Sales Manager for South Australia and Depot Supervisor for Darwin.  In addition to these roles, Rolf has worked on various project teams that have helped shape the industry through innovation, providing thought leadership.  Rolf’s colleagues have described him as being incredibly loyal, totally committed to work and willing to do anything for the company.  “He even put his hand up to relocate to Darwin to be the Depot Supervisor” said Leigh Myers, Depot Operations Manager for Darwin.

“Rolf was an incredibly loyal employee, with a huge amount of technical knowledge and expertise” said Leigh.

Rolf was approachable, friendly and always keen to pass his knowledge on and upskill the next generation.  It was these qualities, along with his in-depth knowledge of LPG that led him to work at the Mongla Terminal for Wesfarmers Kleenheat Elpiji Ltd (WKEL), Bangladesh, where he trained staff in comparing the cost of electricity, oil, wood and natural gas. Rolf also helped instil Australian safety standards in the general running of the overseas terminal, helping to ensure international competitiveness.

Rolf leaves Kleenheat having been the Depot Supervisor for the past five years.  Since joining the Darwin team, he has been instrumental in improving the safety and performance of the depot by ensuring cylinder storage compliance, as well as helping to improve the culture of the workplace.

The staff at Darwin held a morning tea to recognise and celebrate Rolf's outstanding career.
