Safety Tips
Kleenheat Gas are compliant with Australian Standards AS2469 and AS2470 and take extreme care at all stages of the filling and handling process.
There are certain steps that you can take in the unlikely event that a gas cylinder leaks, including:
- Keep flames and sparks away (this should be done all of the time)
- Check valve is turned off. Hose with water
- If leaking does not stop within a minute, isolate to a well ventilated location
- Continue hosing with water
- Call Kwik-Gas for further advice on 132 180
- In an emergency dial 000 Police or Fire Brigade
Exchange cylinder guide
Acceptable cylinders must:
· Have a foot ring
· Have a neck ring
· Be in a good condition (slight surface rust is acceptable)
· Meet Australian Standards – AS 2337.1
· Be a 3.7kg, 3.9kg, 4.0kg, 4.5kg, 8.5kg, 8.8kg or 9.0kg cylinder
· Have a POL valve
Other exchange cylinder brands are accepted subject to meeting the above criteria
Unacceptable Cylinders
Unacceptable cylinders features include any of the following:
· No foot ring
· No neck ring (protective collar)
· Damaged gas valve
· Dents
· Rust or holes (slight surface rust accepted)
· Primus or Companion cylinders
