LPG excise price rise set to apply to some customers
From 1 December 2011, the Australian Government will apply a duty, which will be termed ‘excise’, to gaseous fuels, including LPG and LNG.
The excise will be phased in over four years. The initial rate to be charged from 1 December 2011 will be 2.5 cents per litre, plus GST.
As a result, Kleenheat will be charging excise to customers, where applicable, for forward payment to the Australian Taxation Office.
