Automotive

With its significant financial savings and environmental benefits, autogas is an economic alternative to petrol for both private motorists and commercial vehicles. In Australia, over half a million vehicles are now reaping the rewards of running on autogas.

Apart from the considerable savings you can make each time you fill your tank, the engine life of your vehicle is improved by autogas' clean burning characteristics. Autogas produces significantly less greenhouse gas and other harmful emissions associated with vehicle fuel consumption.

Autogas is non-corrosive, non-toxic and lead free.

An autogas conversion can potentially increase the re-sale value of your vehicle. So, while you may quickly recoup the cost of the conversion just through your annual autogas consumption and the government grants currently on offer, it is possible for you to benefit from any appreciated resale value of your vehicle.

Autogas suits almost all types of vehicles, but is particularly beneficial in the following applications:-

Government Grants

Both the Federal Government and WA State Government have recently announced grants to encourage privately registered vehicles to switch to autogas.

Federal Government

The Federal Grant grant consists of $2000 for an approved and fitted LPG conversion of a new or used motor vehicle for private use and $1000 for a factory-fitted LPG vehicle for private use.

Full details are available by visiting www.ausindustry.gov.au

WA State Government

The Western Australian State Government has also recently increased its LPG conversion subsidy from $500 to $1000 for all LPG conversions and factory-fitted vehicles.

Converting to AutoGas

Vehicles can be fitted with a dual LPG/petrol fuel system or an autogas only engine.

There are two generations of autogas systems available in the Australian market. The product you will install will be determined by the type of motor vehicle being converted. In Western Australia, Kleenheat recommends you contact your nearest Kleenheat Approved Installer to find out which system will suit your vehicle.

With growing demand for conversions, motorists may experience some delay in getting their vehicle converted. This delay will not adversely impact savings to be made long-term and the benefits enjoyed by the motorist and the environment.
