New LPG supplier for Tasmania
On 15 December 2004, Kleenheat Gas acquired the LPG division of both Norvac Pty Ltd and Euphoric Pty Ltd from Mobil Oil Australia, which introduces Kleenheat as a new LPG supplier to the Tasmanian market.

Kleenheat Gas will supply LPG to residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout Tasmania. It will also supply autogas customers, through its associated company, Unigas. Unigas is a partnership between Kleenheat and Elgas and is a major supplier of autogas across Eastern Australia.
Gary Ireson, Kleenheat Gas General Manager comments, “we have been considering entry into the Tasmanian market for some time because we believe there is a great opportunity within this region to encourage more energy consumers to use clean and economical LPG.
This acquisition is certainly a step forward for Kleenheat and we are confident that our experience in mainland Australia will assist us with continuing to provide customers with exceptional customer service and advice,” he said.
Kleenheat Gas already supplies Kwik-Gas to various service stations in Tasmania; where customers are able to exchange their empty barbecue cylinders for a full one, which is far more convenient and ensures that the customer always has a good quality, in-test cylinder for about the same cost as a normal refill.
“Kleenheat, like the previous owners, will continue to involve a number of local people in the business to ensure we completely understand what consumers require and we are meeting all their LPG needs,” Mr Ireson said.
Norvac Pty Ltd will continue to distribute Mobil Fuels and Lubricants to the Tasmanian market.
