Kleenheat invites residents to the official Depot opening
On Friday 21 November 2003 at 10.00am Kleenheat Gas invites the
residents of Armidale to the official opening of the Kleenheat Gas Depot at Mott Street,
Armidale.
The official opening will be conducted by the Mayor of Armidale and will include a free
sausage sizzle, promotions, tours of the depot and showbags.
Gary Ireson, Kleenheat Gas General Manager comments “We welcome all residents and
businesses of Armidale to attend the official opening and obtain a greater understanding
of the new depot and the proposed expansion of the gas network”
“The opening also gives Kleenheat the opportunity to thank the Armidale council for their
assistance in moving the depot. This was no simple task,” Mr Ireson said.
The move from Beardy Street to Mott Street signifies Kleenheat’s commitment to the Armidale
population as the new depot has been designed to provided Stimulated Natural Gas (SNG)
on a much larger scale than the old site.
The new site will also allow Kleenheat to pursue the conversion of customers from
Tempered LPG (TLP), a manufactured gas with properties similar to Towns Gas, to SNG
which allows the use of Natural Gas (NG) appliances. The advantage of NG appliances
is that there is a far greater range to choose from including cookers, hot water units
and heaters.
Relocating the depot, frees up the Beardy Street site for future development, which
will include a supermarket and a number of smaller retail outlets.
