Check your heater, winter is
here!
With over 600,000 households around Australia using LPG as a major energy source
for heating, hot water and cooking and 1 June officially marking the beginning
of winter, it is timely that Kleenheat Gas suggests a few simple safety tips to
ensure safe LPG usage.
Gary Ireson, Kleenheat Gas General Manager comments, “With increased use of
LPG in Australia, people should be aware of the basic properties of LPG and the
safe-handling principles.”
Customers only need to follow these simple steps to ensure safe use of LPG
cylinders throughout the year, particularly during the winter season:
· Maintain your heater with regular servicing, which is recommended at least
every second year
· Check for gas leaks by placing soapy water over the cylinder valve. If
there’s a leak, bubbles will be created.
· Always store and transport your cylinders upright. Do not store cylinders in
a vehicle.
· Never tamper with a cylinder or valve, and if it requires repair, take it to
a specialist, such as a Kleenheat Gas House.
· When using heaters always circulate fresh air into the room for adequate
ventilation.
Kleenheat Gas’ network of almost 100 Kleenheat Gas Houses, appliance stores
across Australia, provide a huge range of top name brands to suit every budget.
The trained Kleenheat Gas staff are able to advise on the most energy efficient
appliances, arrange heater servicing and supply and connect you to LPG.
